This past Monday I had a great day shopping with two of my crafting buddies. We went to my favorite craft store...which is about an hour's drive from my home...So glad it is NOT closer to me. I would be even more broke than I already am, and I'm having a hard enough time as it is...to get my craft room organized, and cleaned out...LOL (In other words, to be honest, I really don't need more stuff....but it's so hard to resist!)My card above is made with a new spellbinder die that I purchased on Monday (new to me anyway...smile) It is one of the Shapeabilities dies/ Anemone Flower topper
My designer paper is from Stampin' Up,
and I used an embossing folder from Cuttlebug, (The textile folder)
ribbon is from Stampin' up
and I added some Stickles
Part of what has been keeping me away from my card making lately is the "fixing" up we have been doing around our house. We had lots of water damage from a leaky roof, and One by one we have been fixing ceilings (and floors at the same time). So you know that means clearing out the WHOLE room. I'm almost embarrassed to show you the before pic of our bedroom below...I'm sure anyone on a tight budget will understand why we waited to do some of the work and have been doing it a little bit at a time. We were hoping to get some help from our home owners insurance...but unfortunately...it ended up being our problem.
I feel like I have been moving, because to date, I have packed up three entire rooms...(One by one)(we have No attic, No garage, no finished basement, so everything had to go into the other rooms of our house). The pic below is the same room, hard for even me to believe...now complete...several months later, and after me sleeping on a recliner for several weeks while it was being done... I now feel like it was worth it.

What a beautiful card, Jill!!! Nothing like a little shopping to get the creative juices flowing! Doesn't it feel great?
ReplyDeleteI love your flower, such beautiful colors and DSP. Perfect with the embossing folder too!
Your bedroom looks fantastic!!! What a difference now! I love your quilt, so beautiful!
Have a wonderful weekend! Blessings!
Kathy
Your card is beautiful and you need to show us how you did the edges of that flower with alternating dsp! Your bedroom is beautiful too!
ReplyDeleteNice card Jill! I am happy for you that you have your bedroom back!
ReplyDeleteThank you all for the nice comments. Carol, In a later post I will try and show the die...It's three sections, and I just used designer paper which was two sided and reversed iton the middle flower. I didn't think it popped enough on the background, so I added a bottom extra section with darker paper so it would show up more...hope this makes sense?
