Trying again to load some pages from my altered book. My last post wouldn't let me upload my photos...remember I'm still new at this....smile.

I recently met two very nice ladies through blogging, They are both great writers. A gift I wish I had... They have inspired me to take up journaling again. That's what my altered book --that I did in 2004--turned out to be, a photo album, scrapbook and journal all rolled up into one. I had planned to do one every year, but sadly that didn't happen, but this year I am definitely going to do another.
I didn't know what to name my book, so I left doing the cover till last. I realized that when I looked at my book, which contained my favorite quotes, titles to the favorite books that I had read, favorite cards from friends, favorite photographs, etc.... the book gave me joy just to read it every time I opened it. So the perfect title for my book was JOY. If you have never tried doing an Altered book, I would highly recommend doing one, Even if you're the only one who sees it.

This is such a wonderful idea. I'm going to try it!
ReplyDeleteI guarantee that you would enjoy making one of these books. My altered book was a throw-a-way book (you know one that is outdated and the library doesn't even want--nor could I sell it at a yard sale) so I made into a book for me instead, which became a treasure to me, and it was something recycled--which is also a good thing.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh Jill! This is the best ideal I have seen! The title JOY is perfect. Thanks for sharing a GORGEOUS journal.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a great, safe and warm Sunday!
I am back on line!!Yeah!

Connie, It is so good to see you back posting again. I know we ALL, myself included, take having electricity so much for granted. Hope it stays on for you. We have another snow and Ice storm heading our way. It's always a scary time. Take care...
ReplyDeleteJD, if you ever need any more quotes....let me know, I have tons!! Nice book, by the way, I have wanted to start one of these for a long time. In fact, I have all the makings for one...I should prep it and start it in 2010!
